TORONTO, Nov. 25 /CNW/ - Emera Inc. ("Emera" - Toronto Stock Exchange
listing: "EMA"), an existing shareholder of Light & Power Holdings Ltd.
("Light & Power Holdings" - Barbados Stock Exchange listing: "LPH") is
pleased to announce that it intends to make an offer to the other
shareholders of Light & Power Holdings to acquire additional issued
common shares of Light & Power Holdings, subject to receipt of approval
from the Barbados Securities Commission for such an offer. Light &
Power Holdings is the parent company of the Barbados Light & Power
Company Limited. Details of the offer will be forthcoming shortly.
The Barbados Securities Commission and the Barbados Stock Exchange have
been informed of Emera's intention to make the offer for additional
common shares of Light & Power Holdings.
Emera acquired its current 38% of the common shareholding in Light &
Power Holdings in May 2010 from Leucadia National Corporation.
